14 Devonshire Place was originally established in 1981 by a group of Consultants in Psychiatry, Psychology and allied disciplines to offer a wide range of specialised assessment, treatment and counselling facilities, with the aim of maintaining a high quality, independent service.

Since the time of its initial conception, every effort has been made at 14 Devonshire Place to provide a rapid, efficient response to referral, to make sure that every patient receives care appropriate to his or her needs, and that the individuals responsible for a patient's care are professionals with specific expertise in those needs.

All of the services at 14 Devonshire Place are provided on an outpatient basis, and recent development has enabled these to be extended to ©Outcare, intensive home based outpatient treatment, available as an alternative to inpatient admission. If specifically requested, however, and felt to be in a patient’s best interests, 14 Devonshire Place has close links with a number of independent psychiatric hospitals and is able to provide for inpatient care.
