@ 14 Devonshire Place, a well established
London based provider of specialist psychiatric and psychological care for nearly
two decades, we are pleased to announce a radical development in independent
mental health services.
The ©Outcare
programme is a modern and realistic alternative to traditional inpatient
care for psychiatric and substance misuse patients.
- The service provides home based treatment,
with 24 hour a day, seven day a week support available for patients from
an experienced mental health team.
- The service has access to all the specialist
professional input available from 14 Devonshire Place, including Consultant
Psychiatrists, Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Occupational Therapists,
Nurses, Counsellors and Therapists.
- The service provides flexibly tailored
and individually managed care programmes for each patient, both at home
and at 14 Devonshire Place.
- The service provides detailed risk assessment,
care planning, psychological assessment, key worker and Consultant liaison
for all patients.
- The service avoids inpatient admission
for all but the most severely disturbed patients, with the ability to maintain
and work within patients’ employment situation and home environment.
- The service is patient-friendly. Our experience
indicates that the avoidance of any perceived stigma associated with inpatient
admission, and the reduced disruption of work and family life afforded by
this type of intervention is particularly welcomed.
- The service is cost effective, requiring
typically half the expenditure of an inpatient admission, with twice the
effective duration of available care.
- Referrals may be made directly to the
service by Consultant Psychiatrists wishing to maintain ongoing responsibility
for their patient, or alternatively, if required, to one of the Consultant
Psychiatrists associated with the programme at 14 Devonshire Place via the
Medical Director.
